A booster with 0.3% pure retinol

Grade Up Retinol 0.3%+ is our most potent booster that contains the maximum permitted dose of vitamin A. Therefore, it should not be mixed with other boosters or acids. Retinol helps to ‘train tired skin cells’ and provides a rebuilding and rejuvenating effect, smoothing fine lines and pigmentation. Retinol is effective because as it is absorbed by the skin, it is broken down and converted to vitamin A acid (also called retinoic acid). Retinoic acid is a compound that can directly affect skin cells and their behaviour.

Key Ingredients - explanation:

  • Retinol / Vitamin A – Retinol is a form of vitamin A. The molecules in retinol are very small and can penetrate the outer layer of the skin, called the epidermis, and reach the middle layer called the dermis. Retinol increases cell renewal and strengthens collagen and elastin.
  • Vitamin E – Helps increase collagen production in the skin and strengthens the skin's resilience. Vitamin E contains antioxidants that protect against free radicals and also has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Vegetable sunflower oil and Nordic rapeseed oil – Both of these oils contain natural vitamin E, which helps to soften and moisturise, protect the skin and make it supple and easy to apply.

Instructions

If your skin is not used to retinol, we recommend that you start by applying a few drops of the booster 1-2 times a week for a month. Then gradually increase the use and remember to always listen to your skin.

For a milder effect, mix 2-3 drops of Grade Up Retinol 0.3+ in your The Base+ cream. Once your skin is used to retinol, you can apply 4-5 drops directly on your skin every night on cleansed skin.

Note! We recommend that you use retinol in the evening before bedtime and that you be careful with SPF during the day. Do not use retinol with your Skin Roller or other acids.

Important to keep in mind when using Retinol / Vitamin A

Before you start using Retinol, find out what results you want to achieve. It is a strong acid that has become popular lately. When it comes to acids, you need to have respect for them. If you overdose and mix acids a lot, you can destroy your skin barrier, and you do not want to do that.

Retinol works effectively on pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin structure and damaged skin such as acne scars or other superficial scars. If there are any of these problem areas you have, Retinol / Vitamin A may be an ingredient to test. But remember to test on a small part of the neck to see how your skin reacts. Hurry slowly, get used to the product. With all this being said about Retinol, it is an amazing product that both you and your skin will love.

Note! Keep in mind that Retinol is a strong ingredient that should not be mixed with other acids. We recommend using Retinol in the evening as the skin may become red and irritated immediately after application.

Can you use Retinol when you are pregnant?

When it comes to Retinol / Vitamin A, you should be careful about using it when you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The reason is that the body contains so many hormones and the skin is more likely to create pigmentation when you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
