Are you losing eyelashes?

Are you losing eyelashes?

From time to time it happens that you lose some eyelashes and usually there is nothing to worry about. If you lose a couple of lashes, it may be the lashes that have entered a telogen phase, which means that the eyelashes are replaced and a new lash is growing out. If, on the other hand, you lose a lot of lashes and it is very uneven, it can be good to check it out.

The natural life cycle of the lashes

A normal life cycle for eyelashes is two to three months. During that time, the fringe grows out (the growth phase), stops (the resting phase) to finally loosen and make room for a new fringe to start growing (the telogen phase). All eyelashes have an individual life cycle, so you lose a little more lashes in certain periods and then lose smaller lashes in another period.

Drops unusually lots of lashes

If you notice that you start to lose an unusual amount of lashes or very much in just one eye, it may indicate that something is wrong. It can then be good to see an ophthalmologist for further investigation.

Stress

A common reason why you can lose a lot of eyelashes is stress. If you expose the body to stress for a long time, it usually shows by losing more hair than usual, in some cases this also applies to the eyelashes. This can also occur in the event of sudden changes in living conditions, such as an accident, the death of a relative or other mental stress. The change that takes place in the body is that the hair follicles enter the resting phase too early. This means that you lose more eyelashes than usual after a month or so. Usually this is nothing to worry about but the lashes usually start to grow back when you feel better mentally.

Alopecia

Alopecia Areata is a disease that causes the body's own immune system to attack the hair follicles. This means that the hair follicles enter the resting phase prematurely and when the eyelashes fall off, no new eyelashes are formed as long as the immune system attacks the hair follicles.

Hormone changes

Another factor that can affect the loss of eyelashes is hormonal changes. These can be caused by pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pills or hypothyroidism. If you suffer from this form of hair loss, the eyelashes usually grow back when the hormone levels have returned to normal.

Medication

Some medications can also cause temporary loss of eyelashes. These can be medications for gout, rheumatism and high blood pressure. If you have lost many of your eyelashes and are taking any medicine, it is always a good idea to consult your doctor for help. If you have suffered from losing your eyelashes, probably temporarily, there are many things you can do to both replace the lost eyelashes, or strengthen your own so they grow back healthy.

Eyelash Growth Serum

To strengthen your own eyelashes, you can use an eyelash serum. With a powerful trio of active ingredients, Eyelash Growth Serum is an effective and gentle way to naturally achieve longer, stronger and fuller eyelashes. The formula is strengthening and nourishing at the same time as it prevents hair loss and stimulates increased hair growth.

The texture is light-weight, transparent and lasts between 2-4 months depending on whether you apply on both the upper and lower lashes. Eyelash Growth Serum is dermatologically tested and has a powerful, but gentle composition of ingredients that in a few weeks will give you naturally beautiful and fuller eyelashes.
